ภายในงานจะมีการมอบโล่รางวัลและประกาศเกียรติคุณแก่ธุรกิจและองค์กรที่เป็นแบบอย่างในการส่งเสริมการใช้ไข่ไก่ไร้กรง และยึดถือจริยธรรมในการผลิตอาหารที่ปลอดภัยต่อผู้บริโภค ธุรกิจและองค์กรที่ได้รับรางวัลจะเป็นตัวอย่างที่ดีในการรับผิดชอบต่อสังคมและส่งเสริมการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ดีในสังคมไทย นายแพทย์วัชระ พุ่มประดิษฐ์ ผู้อำนวยการบริษัท คะตะลิสต์ จำกัด กล่าวถึงการจัดงานในครั้งนี้ว่า “บริษัทฯ มุ่งเน้นการส่งเสริมสวัสดิภาพสัตว์และอาหารยั่งยืนภายใต้แนวคิดวิสาหกิจเพื่อสังคม โดยมีพันธกิจหลักในการพัฒนาสวัสดิภาพสัตว์ในระบบอาหาร และขับเคลื่อนแนวทางการผลิตอาหารที่เป็นมิตรกับสัตว์ สิ่งแวดล้อม และสุขภาพของผู้บริโภคในประเทศไทยและภูมิภาคอาเซียน”

นายแพทย์วัชระกล่าวว่า “ในปัจจุบัน ผู้บริโภคทั้งในประเทศไทยและทั่วโลกเริ่มตื่นตัวกับปัญหาของการเลี้ยงไก่ในกรงตับ ซึ่งมีผลกระทบต่อสุขภาพของแม่ไก่และผู้บริโภค การเลี้ยงในพื้นที่คับแคบยังเพิ่มความเสี่ยงต่อการเกิดโรคระบาดใหญ่ เช่น ไข้หวัดนก ซึ่งเป็นภัยคุกคามที่ส่งผลกระทบอย่างรุนแรงต่อชีวิตผู้คนและเศรษฐกิจโลก”

บริษัท คะตะลิสต์ จำกัด จึงได้สร้างความร่วมมือกับภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และภาคประชาสังคม เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมให้กับภาคเกษตรกรรมในการยกระดับมาตรฐานฟาร์มไก่ไข่สู่ระบบเลี้ยงแบบไม่ขังกรง พร้อมทั้งส่งเสริมการใช้ไข่ไก่ไร้กรงเพื่อสนับสนุนการเปลี่ยนแปลงไปสู่ระบบอาหารที่ยั่งยืนในประเทศไทย

Catalyst Social Enterprise is set to host its second annual awards ceremony honoring entrepreneurs who have made significant contributions to promoting sustainable food and animal welfare through the use of cage-free eggs.

The event will take place on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Chiang Mai Grandview Hotel in Chiang Mai. The ceremony will be presided over by Mr. Apirak Kosayothin, CEO of V Foods (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and former Governor of Bangkok, alongside representatives from the public and private sectors, as well as business leaders from the food, hospitality, and retail industries.

The event will feature the presentation of awards and recognition to businesses and organizations that exemplify the promotion of cage-free egg usage and ethical food production practices. The award recipients will serve as role models for social responsibility and positive change in Thai society. เมื่อวันที่ 7 สิงหาคม 2567 ที่ผ่านมา โรงแรมมันตรา สมุย ได้ร่วมมือกับบริษัทคะตะลิสต์ วิสาหกิจเพื่อสังคม เพื่อขับเคลื่อนนโยบายการใช้ไข่ไก่ไร้กรง (cage-free egg) ให้ครบ 100% ภายในโรงแรม ภายในปี 2025 โดยการประชุมครั้งนี้มีทีมเจ้าหน้าที่ปศุสัตว์ สัตวแพทย์ เกษตรกรไข่ไก่ไร้กรง และตัวแทนจำหน่ายไข่ไก่เบทาโกรเข้าร่วมด้วย ในการประชุม มีการนำไข่ไก่จากฟาร์มต่าง ๆ มาตอกโชว์กันแบบสด ๆ เผยให้เห็นความแตกต่างระหว่างไข่ไก่ที่เลี้ยงในกรงและไข่ไก่ไร้กรงอย่างชัดเจน ลักษณะของไข่ไก่ไร้กรงมีความโดดเด่นด้วยไข่ขาวที่เป็นวุ้นไข่แดงนู้นสวยและมีสีสด บ่งบอกถึงความสดใหม่ที่ได้จากแม่ไก่อารมณ์ดี นอกจากนี้ ไข่ไก่ไร้กรงยังไม่มีกลิ่นคาวเลย ซึ่งเป็นข้อดีที่แตกต่างจากไข่ไก่แบบขังกรงอย่างชัดเจน ความร่วมมือนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการต่อเนื่อง 18 เดือน ที่ไม่เพียงแต่จะสนับสนุนการใช้ไข่ไก่ไร้กรงในโรงแรมมันตรา สมุยเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นการร่วมมือกันผลักดันให้เกิดเกษตรกรรายย่อยในชุมชนท้องถิ่นบนเกาะสมุย ช่วยเพิ่มรายได้และเสริมสร้างกำลังการผลิตไข่ไก่ในท้องถิ่น โครงการนี้ยังมีเป้าหมายเพื่อสร้างผลกระทบเชิงบวกต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมและการดำรงชีวิตที่ยั่งยืน ผ่านการสนับสนุนการใช้ไข่ไก่ไร้กรง ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของความพยายามในการสร้างโรงแรมที่มุ่งเน้นความรับผิดชอบต่อสังคมและสิ่งแวดล้อม (ESG)

On August 7, 2024, Mantra Samui Resort partnered with Catalyst, a social enterprise, to drive the adoption of a 100% cage-free egg policy within the hotel by 2025. This meeting was attended by officials from the livestock department, cage-free egg farmers, and representatives from Betagro, a major egg distributor.

During the meeting, eggs from various farms were cracked open live, clearly showcasing the differences between battery-cage eggs and cage-free eggs. The cage-free eggs were notably superior, with gelatinous egg whites and vibrant, well-rounded yolks, indicating their freshness from healthy hens. Additionally, the absence of any fishy smell highlighted a significant advantage of cage-free eggs over battery-cage eggs.

This collaboration is part of an 18-month ongoing project that not only supports the use of cage-free eggs at Mantra Samui Resort but also aims to encourage the development of small-scale farmers within the local community on Koh Samui. This initiative seeks to boost farmers’ incomes and strengthen local egg production capacity.

The project also aims to create a positive impact on the environment and promote sustainable living by supporting the use of cage-free eggs. This effort is part of the hotel’s broader commitment to building a socially and environmentally responsible establishment (ESG).

Catalyst Co., Ltd., a social enterprise, in collaboration with the Institute of Agricultural Technology and Innovation Management, National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and the Surat Thani Provincial Livestock Office, recognizes the importance of opportunities and challenges in promoting knowledge and technology to personnel of the Department of Livestock Development, relevant government agencies involved in egg production, and farm staff. This initiative aims to prepare and transition layer farming from battery-cage to cage-free systems, adhering to international animal welfare standards in Surat Thani Province. This training is supported by experts from leading educational institutions such as Kasetsart University, the Department of Livestock Development, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, and Suranaree University of Technology.
