Lung Wut Organic Farm in Phang Nga, Thailand, has reached a new milestone in the egg industry after receiving an animal welfare certification for its cage-free egg production system from Catalyst Company Limited, a social enterprise organization. This marks an important step toward promoting ethical and environmentally friendly egg production, aligning with the growing market demand for higher animal welfare standards.

The certification is part of the “Good Life Framework for Hens,” developed by international experts from institutions such as the University of Bristol (UK), University College Dublin (Ireland), and the Laying Hen Welfare Forum (UK), along with Thai universities. The framework aims to help farmers improve their farming systems in accordance with the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare.

Mr. Wuttisak, the owner of Lung Wut Organic Farm, stated, “Cage-free egg farming not only improves the quality of life for hens but also benefits consumer health. Our farm uses herbal remedies instead of antibiotics and contributes to sustainable social change.”
